According to the Central Electoral Bureau, a number of 479,196 electors exercised their constitutional right to elect the country’s president by 9.00 p.m., on Nov. 22, in the 3,359 specially arranged polling stations.
The highest number of votes were recorded at the special polling stations in Ilfov County – 21,824, Olt County – 21,436, Dolj – 20,874, Cluj – 19,539 and in Timis – 18,822 cast by citizens who were outside their residence locality.
A lower presence in these stations was recorded in Bucharest, District 5, where 589 electors cast their vote, followed by District 4 – 1,869 electors, District 2 – 2,213 citizens with the right to vote and District 1 – 2,873, as well as in Covasna County – 3,861 electors. By 7.00 p.m., a number of 429, 946 people have voted in the special polling stations for the election of the president.
