The turnout figure for the Sunday’s referendum on cutting Romanian Parliament to one chamber and reducing the number of lawmakers to 300 stood at 50.88 percent, according to partial returns centralized by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), at 5 p.m, local hour.
According to BEC, the partial returns of the national referendum on switching to unicameral parliament showed 77.74 electors answered “yes” and 22.26 percent said “no”. The partial returns of the referendum on reducing the number of lawmakers to maximum 300 showed 88.85 percent of the voters said “yes” and 11.15 said “no”.
