President Basescu would have garnered 34.1 percent of the vote, while the PSD+PC candidate Geoana would have won 30.9 percent of the vote today.
Candidate of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Crin Antonescu came in next, with 22.1 percent; Kelemen Hunor of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), 3.6 percent, and independent candidate Sorin Oprescu 3.4 percent.
Next were Gheorghe Becali, 1.4 percent; Remus Cernea 0.4 percent; Ovidiu Iane, 0.2 percent; Eduard Manole, 0.2 percent; Constantin Ninel Potarca, 0.1 percent, while Constantin Rotaru won 0 percent.
