Loading ...Incumbent President Traian Basescu, running as independent candidate with the endorsement of the Democratic-Liberal Party (PD-L), and Mircea Geoana – the candidate of the Social Democratic Party + Conservative Party (P SD+P C) Alliance, are the candidates that will battle in the December 6 presidential run-off, show the exit polls conducted and given to publicity on Sunday by INSOMAR, CCSB and CSOP at the closing of the polling stations.
According to the INSOMAR exit poll broadcast by television channel Realitatea TV, Traian Basescu has 32.8 pct of the votes, whereas Mircea Geoana garnered 31.7 pct of the votes. The CCSB exit poll broadcast by the Antena 3 television channel, credits Traian Basescu with 34.1 pct of the votes, and Mircea Geoana – 30.9 percent.
According to the CSOP exit poll aired by television channel B1, Traian Basescu obtained 33.2 percent of the votes, and Mircea Geoana – 30.3 percent of the votes. The CURS exit poll broadcast by public television channel TVR 1 projects Traian Basescu on the leading position with 33.72 percent of the votes, followed by Mircea Geoana with 31.44 pct.
