The Central Election Bureau (BEC) has yet to receive the electronic reports from 17 polling stations, of which 16 are from outside Romania and one in the northern Maramures county, BEC spokesman Marian Muhulet announced on Tuesday.

He said the Maramures polling station had decided to count the votes again and hence the delayed report. ‘The next step is the certification of the election results by the Constitutional Court. The electoral campaign for the presidential runoff may start afterwards’, Muhulet pointed out. The Bureau will announce on Wednesday the final results of the first round of the presidential balloting and of the referendum related to Parliament.
