Credit in lei dropped 0.5 percent (- 0.9 percent in real terms), whereas the credit in foreign currency expressed in lei rose 2.2 percent (expressed in euro, the credit in foreign currency dropped by 0.1 percent).
On Oct. 31, 2009 the non-governmental credit recorded a 4.2 percent rise (- 0.1 percent in real terms) from Oct. 31, 2008 on the account of an increase by 13.3 percent of the foreign currency component expressed in lei (expressed in euro the credit in foreign currency diminished by 3.5 percent) and of a reduction by 7.1 percent of the component in lei (- 10.9 percent in real terms).
Governmental credit declined in Oct. by 7.4 percent, to 39.842 billion lei. On Oct. 31, 2009 the governmental credit surged by 231.8 percent (218.2 percent in real terms) compared to Oct. 31, 2008.
