Francois Fourmont, the Frenchman at the end of his over six- year term at the helm of Automobile Dacia, says that a functional transport infrastructure and the education system reform are needed in order to sustain investments of billions of euros made by foreign companies in Romania.

“In the majority of cases Polytechnics educated students never stepped into a factory, whereas in France, when they leave the higher education institutions, they have already received a 2-year training in a factory”, said Fourmont, quoted by Ziarul financiar daily.

Referring to his mandate, Fourmont said he blames himself for not paying more attention to the staff, which had the consequence the general strike in spring 2008, but numbered among his accomplishments the investment of 1.5 billion euros implemented locally and business up to 3 billion euros the Renault Group made in Romania.
At present, Renault Romania has 18,000 employees and apart of the production of Logan car model it carries out design, technological research and export of auto subassemblies activities.
