The EU Foreign Ministers will exchange opinions on the priorities envisaged by the Spanish presidency during its term, focusing on institutional aspects, on the consolidation of the measures aimed at helping the countries out the economic and financial crisis, the reform of the EU budget, the Union’s enlargement and foreign relations.
Minister Catalin Predoiu will express Romania’s support and full readiness for cooperation for the Spanish presidency of the EU Council to unfold under the best conditions, inclusively in the light of the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Romanian official will also underline the special importance of the mandate of the future Spanish presidency, from the perspective of the accomplishment of an ambitious European agenda in the new context of action created by the coming in force, on December 1, 2009, of the Lisbon Treaty. Spain will take over the EU Presidency from Sweden.
