About 25 percent of them are building sites for some private residential buildings, which actually were the ones to support the demand for building materials this year, large scale projects missing. The new building sites that have been opened in the past five months in Bucharest, Cluj and Brasov only account for a quarter of the total 1,175 building sites being prepared, many of them still in the stage of intention, tender, design.
“Of all the building sites these 265 are the ones for which the beneficiaries or the builders with whom the IBC Focus consultants talked said they wanted offers for the general contract, execution, building materials and other connected services,” daily Ziarul Financiar quotes Adriana Bodron, IBC Focus managing partner, as saying.
According to another study made by the above-mentioned company, which was applied to 250 construction companies, one of the greatest challenges, besides recouping money, is the low demand for the materials or the services on the market.
“Still, at the same time, our team daily learns about at least 15 new building sites for which construction offers are requested. Therefore, the construction market does not yet give any signs of the decline it is subject to in winter, but right now many beneficiaries and builders hurry to finalize the work at the end of the year,” says Bodron.
In November the number of the new building sites increased by 13 percent as against October. The building materials in the highest demand are the ones for finishing, followed by the ones for installations and sales of bricks. IBC Focus, headquartered in Cluj-Napoca, is one of the few companies monitoring the construction market and has information of 11,00 active building sites.
