At the end of the meeting he had at the Parliament Palace with leader of the National Liberal Party Crin Antonescu and with mayor of the city of Sibiu (central Romania) Klaus Johannis, who was agreed on for the position of Premier, Mircea Geoana said that the three politicians were “a united team” that will try “to do good things for this country.”
Geoana said he was “extremely satisfied” with the meeting he had with Crin Antonescu and Klaus Johannis and emphasized the fact that the talks did not refer to “portfolios and the assignment of the power.”
“In the future government Mr Johannis will have the last say in selecting the team he is going to head,” added Mircea Geoana, who pledged to bring “political stability” immediately after the elections of December 6.
He added that, in the time to come, they would hold “very rapid talks about the governing programme.” In his turn Klaus Johannis said he was “very optimistic” about the talks he held with his main supporters and added that the three of them made up a “team” that “can solve the problems Romania has at present.”
“At this time it is not advisable for us to go into too many details. Things must be solved gradually. After the election we shall shortly have a capable team, which will take over the government,” said Klaus Johannis, who emphasized the fact that he would not take part in electoral meetings together with Crin Antonescu and Mircea Geoana.
