The Romanian consulates in Cahul and Balti, the Republic of Moldova, will be inaugurated at the beginning of the year 2010, State Secretary for Relations with Romanians Everywhere Eugen Tomac said in Chisinau on Monday.

Things have evolved, there are already the buildings where the consulates will open in Cahul and Balti. It is a matter of days, till we can offer tangible details about when the ribbon is cut, said Tomac adding that a consulate of the Republic of Moldova will be opened in Iasi (east).

Tomac also stressed that the main objective of the Romanian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Relations with Romanians Everywhere is that the National Agency for Citizenship, which is due starting activity in a couple of days, should be as active as possible and grant a larger number of citizenships. Another goal is to offer the opportunity to study in Romania to as many young people from the Republic of Moldova, as possible.
