Loading ...The number of tourists saw a slide of some 10 percent in 2009, but during the winter holiday season it grew due to lower prices practiced by the travel operators, announced on Wednesday, on a TV channel, spokesman of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) Traian Badulescu.
According to ANAT spokesman, 400 Romanians spend their winter holidays on cruise ships and 1,000 in exotic islands. “Austria is destination number one in terms of holidays abroad, preferred by Romanians for winter sports”, he said. As regards the offers for the New Year’s Eve, Badulescu said that the prices are higher by comparison to those practiced for Christmas period.
“When we refer to tourism at home, there is a diversified offer. Especially, on the seaside, tourists can find many hotels with spa and massage. A New Year’s Eve package in a seaside resort costs more than 500 lei (1 euro=4.2 lei), in a five-star hotel. In summer this tariff is per night”, added Badulescu.
