Loading ...The public community service for driving licences and registration numbers with the Bucharest Prefect’s Institution begins assigning the three-digit number plates on Monday, Jan. 4.
The official set of numbers and letters will be of the type B – 000 (a three-digit combination) – AAA (a three-letter set). The need to introduce a three-digit set on the registration numbers is the result of the spectacular rise in the number of vehicles in the country. The older two-digit number plates will continue to be allotted until the vacant variants in the information system are used up, the source said. The current registration numbers remain valid and their replacement is not required.
