‘I believe we need to conduct a careful analysis of the party’s activity overseas, including in the European Parliament, in order to become more active, more visible and more capable of bringing our problems to the attention of our partners and to better promote our interests.
Regardless of our stands, we have the duty to prepare this Congress very carefully, which shouldn’t regard it as a mere formality, an occasion to invest a new leader and that to be all. The investment of the new leader would be like the last task of this Congress. My only concern related to this matter is that the Congress should not elect this leader, either old or new, on the halls or in some other hidden places’, Corina Cretu underlined in a release posted on Tuesday on her personal Web page.
According to her, PSD is still a party strong and democratic enough to accept the diversity of opinions and not to take the criticism expressed by some of its members dramatically, regardless of how high or low these members are placed in the hierarchy.
In the opinion of the PSD MEP, regardless of the ups and downs in the latest years, PSD proved it remained an important party, capable of determining the political dynamics of Romania – although it is no longer the party that dominates the political scene – due to its structure, discipline and administrative competence.
