Industrial output prices up by 2.6 pct on 2008

The industrial output prices were up by 0.6 percent in November from October 2009 and by 2.6 percent on November 2008, the National Institute of Statistics announced in a release on Tuesday.

The industrial output prices – both in the domestic and foreign market – were up by 0.6 percent compared to the previous month; in terms of destination, the industrial output prices bound for the domestic market went up by 0.4 percent, with the prices of the foreign markets-bound goods inching up 0.9 percent, the Institute said, stressing the November figures are temporary.

By sectors of activity, price rises were recorded in the mining industry at 1.4 percent and the processing industry at 0.6 percent. A drop by 0.1 percent was recorded in the production and supply of electricity and heating, gas, hot water and air conditioning, while the prices for water supply, garbage collection, waste management and decontamination kept unchanged from the previous month.

By big industry groups, the most significant price rises were posted by the energy industry at plus 1.2 percent, the consumer goods industry at plus 0.5 percent, the capital goods industry at plus 0.4 percent and the intermediate goods industry at plus 0.3 percent. Price drops were posted by the industry of consumer durables at minus 1 percent.
The overall industrial production prices – both the domestic and the foreign markets – were up by 2.6 percent on November 2008. Such prices were up by 0.2 percent in September 2009 from the prior month and they were down by 1.2 percent on September 2008, the Institute announced.
