‘This project aims at the radical change regarding the management of crime prevention activities,’ Marian Tutilescu, police chief quaestor, Secretary of State with the Ministry of Administration and the Interior, Schengen Department, told a press conference held on the occasion of this event.
Through the implementation of this system, the Romanian Police aims at an efficiency increase by shortening the reaction time and by making the analysis of data present in the system more effective.
At the same time, through SNRI the claims processing will be carried out in electronic format and the authors’ profiles will be drafted much more easily by policemen, the latter having thus the possibility of mapping a ‘nationwide crime map’.
SNRI is the second project IGPR approves through the financing instruments, Structural Funds – European Social Fund – ‘Administrative Capacity Development’ Operational Programme.
During the process of rendering the project operational, they will train at least 12,000 policemen in order to use SNRI and over 400 managers, analysts and statisticians to assess, monitor and interpret the collected data.
