The European Commissioner is to meet with Romania’s President Traian Basescu on Thursday, as well as with Marko Bela, Deputy Prime Minister, coordinator of the Department for European Affairs.
At the same time, on Friday, Leonard Orban will take part in the roundtable called “Where Europe ends”, from the “European prospects” series of events, organized by the European Commission Representation to Romania.
According to the release, these debates will have as a starting point a documentary referring to the consequences of the European enlargement upon the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, countries on the European Union (EU) outer borders.
President of the Academic Society in Romania Alina Mungiu Pippidi, one of the film producers, will also attend this roundtable, organized in cooperation with the European Parliament Information Office.
The European Commissioner will discuss on Monday with school students and professors of the Romanian-Spanish “Miguel de Cervantes” High School on the theme of “Youth and multilingualism in a united Europe”.
The dialogue is to lay the accent on the importance of the study of foreign languages in the context of the European integration process. On Monday as well, Leonard Orban will give a press conference at the Europe House headquarters, to sum up his mandate at its end and to discuss the recent evolutions on the European scene.
