According to a release remitted by the Presidential Administration, the two officials exchanged views on the institutional developments at the European Union (EU) level, after the enforcement of the Lisbon Treaty and the evolutions of the economic situation in the EU.
Commissioner Leonard Orban also referred to his activity within the EC College, according to the first ever portfolio held by a Romania’s representative.
Leonard Orban is paying a five-day visit to Romania, starting on Thursday. The same day, the European Commissioner for Multilingualism has met with the Deputy Premier Marko Bela, coordinator of the Department for European Affairs.
On Friday, Orban will take part in the roundtable called “Where Europe ends”, from the “European prospects” series of events, organized by the European Commission Representation to Romania. The European Commissioner will discuss on Monday with school students and professors on the theme of youth and multilingualism in a united Europe, followed by a presentation in a press conference of the summing up of his mandate at its conclusion.
