Information in English

No sea ship can sail to the Black Sea on the Danube River’s Sulina channel due to unfavourable weather on Tuesday. Petrica Rade, spokesman for the Tulcea Harbour Master’s Office, told on Tuesday that navigation at Sulina Bar, where the Danube flows into the Black Sea, has been halted since Monday afternoon.

“Sailing of sea ships at Sulina Bar will be resumed depending on the weather developments”, Rade said. Sulina Bar has been closed to navigation since Monday afternoon, because of 6-7 force gales, with the storm on the Black Sea reaching 5-6 force and visibility at 10 nautical miles. The Romanian National Weather Forecaster issued on Monday a Code Yellow alert of snowfalls from 10 p.m. on Monday till 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

Raw winds and wintry showers are expected in the southern half of Moldavia (eastern Romania), in the southern region of Muntenia, in southeastern Transylvania (central Romania) and in the southeastern Dobrogea region, the Forecaster said. There will also be temporary sleet showers that will ice up roads in the eastern area of Baragan plain (southern Romania) and in Dobrogea, the National Forecaster announced.
