At this year’s edition, Romania presented a 210 sq,m stand, 50 sq.m of it being offered free of charge, by the organizers, thank to the stand’s high attractiveness.
Three craftspeople, namely an Easter-egg painter from Moldovita (eastern Romanian), a potter from Margina and a wood-carver from the Danube Delta showed their exhibits; a cold-cuts maker from Bukovia was offering the visitors to taste Romanian traditional food, while the Ciprian Porumbescu Ensemble from Suceava was performing folk songs and dances.
The exhibitors offered over 12,000 leaflets and supplied information about the Romanian tourism. Along with travel agencies, also attending the Fair were the County Councils of Suceava (north-east) and Tulcea (south-east), the tourism promotion associations of Bukovina (north-east) and Banat (south-west) and several airlines companies.
The ‘ Pilgrim to Bukovina’ programme was also launched on the occasion as part in the joint Romanian-Austrian Vienna-Bukovina pilgrimage route project.
In the Fair’s second evening, Romania’s Office for tourism promotion and information in Austria, with the support of the Suceava County Council organized the performance called Bukovinan Evening. Attending were over 220 decision makers and experts of all the big European tour operators, on the Austrian market, and the Austrian media representatives.
The participants were interested in the Romanian tourism offer, particularly in Bukovina, Transylvania, the Danube Delta, the trips in the Carpathians, Bucharest and the Banat, and niche products such as the car caravans, adventure and active travels.
