30 ianuarie 2010

Information in English

The first train ticket dispenser started working on Friday in the Northern Station, the second one is to start working next week. This year ten such machines will be made operational in Timisoara (western Romania), Iasi (eastern Romania), Cluj (central Romania), Constanta (south-eastern Romania) and Brasov (central Romania), the total investment amounting to 100,000 euros.

The system will make it possible to set up such dispensers in the stations where there is no permanent service, where there is no night service, in railway halts were tickets are sold by third persons and in malls and supermarkets in order to attract more travellers to trains.

The project is carried out in cooperation with Informatica Feroviara SA, the provider and developer of the software that was used by the xSell system, which ensured the software and hardware developments necessary for the restructuring and development of the applications existing in the xSell information system so that it should make possible ticket sales with seats to be reserved through ticket dispensers.
