The Authority will be managed by a four-year mandate president, the maximum number of positions is 126 and the commission of permanent activity will number 15 members, declared the quoted sources. President Traian Basescu made the announcement on the establishment of this organization during his visit on Wednesday and Thursday to Chisinau.
The Romanian Head of State said that the institution would be headquartered in Bucharest and it would have five regional offices, in Iasi, Galati (both in eastern Romania), Suceava (north-eastern Romania), Timisoara (western Romania) and Cluj (central Romania), where the Romanian citizenship applications would be submitted. Up to now, the procedures of gaining and regaining Romanian citizenship were managed by the Citizenship Department at the Ministry of Justice.
