‘We managed to have good election results due to our territorial organisations’ performance and we want PD-L to become the main political option for Romanians in 2012 and in the future,’ Boc said. According to Boc, the place and the role played by local organisations in the decision-making process, the career management and promotion mechanisms within the party, as well as the PD-L open-door policy for professionals will be discussed within the commission.
The Democrat Liberal leader underlined that the main promotion criteria within the party would be personal competence and teamwork ability. Regarding the decisions made by the statutes commission, Boc stated that he would translate into practice what his colleagues would vote for. Sorin Frunzaverde, PD-L vice-chairman, expressed his opinion related to a formula in which the short and medium term decisions within the party should be made by the Steering Committee, where a larger local representation was present.
He added the number of people forming the party’s National Standing Bureau should be smaller. On the other hand, Adriean Videanu, PD-L first vice-chairman, believes the leaders of PD-L local organisations currently have enough decision-making power within the party. General Secretary Vasile Blaga was against the modification of the Steering Committee and National Standing Bureau formula, too, stating that the Committee already had great decision-making power.
