Minister of Education, Research, Youth and Sports Daniel Petru Funeriu will open on Thursday the works of the first international meeting of the board in charge with approving the group of strategic projects for the reform of Romania’s university education, the Education Ministry informs in a press release.

The meeting is part of a series of events conducted under a complex university education project carried out by the Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education and University Scientific Research (UEFISCSU), funded under the European Social Fund. Discussed at the meeting will be university education quality and leadership, improving university management, assessing research in Romanian universities, a single enrollment registry and the relationship between research institutes and universities.

The National and International Approval Board is entrusted with providing consulting and feed-back in relation to project implementation and outcome and also with recommending, upon request, international experts who could get involved in various stages of the projects. At the same time, the board is meant as a reference point for university education cooperation policies.
