The 20th session of the Romanian-Chinese Governmental Economic Cooperation Committee will be held in Bucharest, February 27- March 1, 2010, as agreed upon by Romanian Minister for Economy, Commerce and Business Milieu Adriean Videanu and Chinese ambassador in Bucharest Liu Zengwen.
The two officials met on Wednesday in Bucharest to discuss aspects of the future session of the Romanian-Chinese Governmental Economic Cooperation Committee and ways of drawing Chinese investment to Romania for priority areas such as energy, infrastructure and environmental protection.
Chinese partners were invited to select and propose to the committee drawing up economic development projects for these areas. Minister Videanu presented the intention of Romania to establish, under public-private partnerships, three new energy holdings, one using pit coal as fuel and two using lignite.
The two officials also pointed to a rising trend over the past years in the trade between Romania and China, voicing conviction that the trade will be further boosted, given the future visits by Romanian state officials to China during the 2010 World Exposition to be hosted by Shanghai.
