Baconschi and Barnett discussed the evolution of bilateral political relations, the identification of new bilateral cooperation projects, the outcomes of the recent international conference on Afghanistan held in London.
The two officials also tackled issues specific to the European agenda, such as the EU enlargement, the European External Action Service, the evolution of relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, as well as other subjects of common interest such as the combat of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and climate changes.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the two officials reaffirmed their commitment to the same set of ideas and values and expressed their readiness to deepen the Romania – UK strategic partnership through a sustained political dialogue at bilateral and European level.
