Among the beneficiaries of the licenses there are the Interior, Justice, Finance, Defense, Health and Agriculture ministries. MCSI organised a tender in July 2009, but only a consortium made of D-Con.Net AG, D-Con.Net GmbH, Comsoft Direct AG Bechtle Holding Schweiz AG and Microsoft Dim Soft SRL Romania (as subcontractor) participated.
The contract was signed a month later. In 2004, the Government signed a contract with Microsoft to use the U.S. company’s products for a period of five years. Contract terms define the use of a total of approximately 50,000 Microsoft licenses worth 54 million dollars, with the money having already been paid. In 2009, payments to Microsoft totalled 57.86 million dollars.
