Blue Air to open flights to Bangkok and Havana this May

24 februarie 2010

Information in English

Blue Air low-cost air carrier will open this May weekly flights to Bangkok (Thailand) and Havana (Cuba), its first destinations outside Europe, Blue Air General Manager Adrian Ionascu reports.

‘Blue Air has concluded a partnership with Italian Distal Group carrier consortium, which includes Blue Panorama, to operate these flights outside Europe, and with a domestic company of Italy and an airport handling company. Under this partnership, Blue Air will carry 20,000 passengers on its two flights, which add to three flights to three new Italian destinations,’ says Ionascu.

Under the same partnership, Blue Air will operate flights to Rome, from where the flights to Bangkok and Havana will be continued by Blue Panorama. Blue Air says the five new flights will win the company additional business of up to 3 million euros in 2010, and the company will contemplate expanding its business to include destinations in Brazil, Cuba, Madagascar, the Maldives and Mexico. Blue Air has reported having carried nearly 115,000 passengers in January 2010, up nearly 15 percent from the same month of 2009.
