Information in English

The film „Tales from the Golden Age,” written and co-directed by Cristian Mungiu, will be screened at the 21st International Film Festival in Ankara, which is organized over March 11-21, 2010.

According to a release of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Istanbul, the Romanian movie was invited within a special section devoted to foreign movies that were successful in 2009.

„Tales from the Golden Age,” which refers to the communist period, a film produced following the script of Cristian Mungiu, who is also the film director, next to Ioana Uricaru, Hanno Hoefer, Razvan Marculescu and Constantin Popescu, was the most viewed Romanian movie of 2009.

The film pictures the funniest urban legends of the Romanian 80′s and is made up of two parts: „Comrades, Life Is Beautiful!” and „Spare Time Love,” both released in the Romanian cinemas last autumn. In Ankara, the movie will be screened three times, being presented at the festival with the support of ICR in Istanbul.
