Loading ...The same volume went down as gross series (minus 12.4 pct) and as adjusted series (minus 12.6 pct) against the same month of the previous year. In January 2010, the volume of construction works (gross series) fell compared to December 2009 by 64.5 percent, a drop reported both by the capital repair works (minus 71.6 pct), new construction works (minus 64.3 pct) and maintenance and current repair works (minus 61.7 pct).
By type of construction works, a decline was reported on the engineering construction segment (minus 65.1 pct), non-residential buildings (minus 64.4 pct) and residential buildings (minus 62.7 pct). As adjusted series, the volume of construction lost 6 percent in January 2010 compared to December 2009, INS informs.
Capital repair works and new construction works dropped by 21.5 percent and 7.8 percent respectively. On the other hand, maintenance and current repair works gained 5.5 percent. By type of construction works, their volume rose by 0.4 percent for the residential buildings. As regards non-residential buildings and engineering construction works, the works volume lost 12.3 percent and 5.4 percent respectively.
