Liviu Dragnea (PSD): We want no autonomous Hungarian region

16 martie 2010

Information in English

Social Democratic Party (PSD) general secretary Liviu Dragnea said on Monday that the Social Democrats disagree with a autonomous Hungarian region or the ‘Old Transylvania,’ an opinion they will also back up during the consultations with President Basescu, at the Cotroceni Palace.

‘Along with our proposals for the Constitution’s modification, I think we are also to approach issues related to the Law on the regional development, namely the concept of regionalization, currently lodged to the Parliament and which we disagree with. We want no autonomous Hungarian region, and no ‘ Old Transylvania’ either, the PSD official said before the Party’s National Standing Bureau (BPN) is to start its sitting.

Dragnea adds he is going to propose the BPN to approve the members of the delegation to attend the consultations with Romania’s President, namely PSD President Victor Ponta, General Secretary Liviu Dragnea and vice-president Ioan Chelaru.
