„In conclusion, there should be a unicameral Parliament with a maximum of 300 MPs, which, in our opinion, is not an issue to negotiate, because it was decided in the referendum; then there are further aspects related to the glitches in the functioning of the Romanian state and the constitutional deadlock issues to be considered during the process of revising the Constitution,’ Liberal Democratic leader Emil Boc synthesized the proposals that got his party’s support.
Emil Boc reiterated that he endorses the „immediate implementation” of the results of the 2009 referendum on downsizing the number of MPs and the switch to a unicameral Parliament. „PD-L considers that the reform of the Constitution must be continued with fundamental aspects, so that at the referendum on the revision of the fundamental law we should have a consistent package of proposals to improve the functionality of the state and modernize it as well,” said Emil Boc.
