According to a TI-RO news release sent on Monday, the project aims at strengthening the European Union member states’ capacity of preventing and identifying the risks of corruption, throughout all stages of public procurement process, mainly focusing on the European funding procurement.
The Transparency International Secretariat in Berlin coordinates the project that is developed in partnership with national TI branches from 10 EU member states, i.e. Bulgaria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia.
Three training sessions will be held within this project, intended for the staff working in institutions responsible with the public procurement management or/and public procurement control, for public servants responsible with legislation development on public procurement, for personnel working in control bodies.
The topics tackled during the training programme focus on the public procurement process integrity and the European funds management. Transparency International Romania is a nongovernmental organization whose primary objective is to prevent and fight nationwide and worldwide corruption, mainly through research, documentation, information, training and public awareness activities.
