President Traian Basescu said on Tuesday, at the beginning of the political consultations with the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD), the opposition National Liberal Party and the opposition Conservative Party that he did not exclude anybody from the discussions on the reform of the state, thus referring to the withdrawal of the three groups from the consultations on Monday, March 15, in protest against the presence of the independent parliamentarians.
„If, when it comes to parties, you can exclude anybody you want, as President I do not exclude any parliamentarian from the dialogue with this institution. I would be violating the Constitution if I took the liberty to isolate part of Parliament. The equidistance asked for by chairman Victor Ponta [PSD chairman] forces me to take such attitudes too.
I am President for everybody, both for the good and for the bad, both for the principled and the unprincipled, both for those committed politically and for the ones non-committed politically,” said the Head of State.
