The Company, in February this year started operating six weekly Bucharest-Vienna flights from the Otopeni Airport, and it plans to ship up to 150,000 passengers over the route, during its first operation year in Romania.
Vienna is a transfer point for southeastern Europe, with many flights to Germany and the rest of Europe. For a start, we plan to carry between 100,000 and 150,00 passengers in the first year,’ said Lauda.
He added that, for the Company’s presence on the Romanian market should be profitable, th investment amounts to round 1.5 million euros. Niki Air is a low cost company based on the Vienna Airport. It is set up in 2003 and its main share holders are Niki Lauda and Air Berlin.
