Dacia Duster costs in Romania between 10,500 euros for the 4X2, 1,6 and 105 HP version and 15,600 euros for the 4×4, 1,5 dCI and 110 HP Laureate model, according to data published on Dacia Group’s website. Duster will be 5,000 euros cheaper than its competitors.
According to Dacia vice-chairman Constantin Stroe’s statements, the Duster SUV model might represent 20 percent of the Romanian car factory production this year, i.e. over 60,000 units, ranking third in terms of capacity after Sandero and Logan sedan.
To start with, Dacia Duster will be launched in Europe, Turkey and Maghreb (Algeria and Morocco), and starting from this June, Duster will reach Ukraine, the Middle East (Israel, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon), Egypt and some African countries under the Renault brand. The new model will also be manufactured in Brazil in the factory from Curitiba, where Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Logan models are also being made.
While the 4×2 models have a Euro 4 engine, the 4×4 versions are Euro 5-powered, which means that the latter ones will have zero pollution tax. The average fuel consumption is estimated at 5.1 litres per 100 km and may reach 7.5 percent for the superior engines.
