Brennecke told a news conference the same day, after touring various companies running on German capital or owned by Swabians in the Carei area, that his expectations were exceeded. ‘Besides opportunities, I have noticed optimism with business executives. This is a remarkable thing when everybody is talking about crisis. I believe this area has very important assets that will get it out of the crisis,’ the consul said.
Brennecke mentioned that geography, labour quality and knowledge of the German language are among the assets of Satu Mare county. He also pointed to the way in which the local authorities have supported tuition in German language in a time of crisis, when spending is cut even in Germany, as well as to the excellent cultural cooperation between local authorities and German partners.
Chairman of the Satu Mare County Council Csehi Arpad said he wants to establish business ties with German travel agencies to win visitors for the tourist attractions and the leisure areas to be created in the county.
