The Romanian competition is open to any candidate meeting the criteria and being interested in a job corresponding to the beginner level in the EU structures (AD5 level). The process of selection began on March 16, in the following fields of activity: European public administration – 105 (posts), Legal – 43, Economic – 39, audits – 64, information technology and communication – 72.
In 2010, EPSO competitions are going to follow new selection procedures, to allow the shortening of the steps and focus more on the assessment tests. The selection involves two stages: a pre-selection test online, to be organized in each member state and an assessment stage, to be held in Brussels. The winners of the EPSO competitions will be included on a reserve list, to stay valid for one year, and to be put at the disposal of the European institutions to choose candidates for final interviews, and in the end qualified persons to fill vacancies.
EPSO has already announced the possibility of organising a contest too, in 2010, for Danish, German, English, French, Slovenian translators and interpreters of Bulgarian, English, Dutch, Romanian and Slovenian. „After joining the EU, the Romanian citizens are eligible to become European clerks, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs promoting the widest possible representation of Romanian specialists in administrative structures of the Community institutions,’ says MAE.
Following EPSO competitions organised in the years 2008 and 2009, there were employed in different European posts 548 candidates from Romania, of which 278 occupy administration level positions (AD) and 270 assistant level positions (AST).
