Romania will have its own stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair, due to take place on Oct 6-10, the Romanian Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the organizer of the stand, informs on Wednesday.
AD LIBRI, Cartea Romaneasca, Casa Radio, Coresi, Curtea Veche, Editura Niculescu, Paralela 45, Teora, Humanitas Publishing Group, Litera International, Meteor Press, Nemira, Rao, Regia Autonoma Monitorul Official (the Official Gazette), Lider, Polirom, Vivaldi, Vremea are the publishing houses to exhibit their books, here.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is the main meeting venue of the most important actors of the publishing industry worldwide, such as booksellers, publishers, literary gay videos agents, film producers and authors, reads the release.
With thousands of exhibitors from over one hundred countries, every year, the Fair proposes a dense and miscellaneous agenda, both to the publishers and the related industries. Digitisation in the book trade is one of the main topics of the Fair’s 2010 programme, which is devoted a special professional programme under the headline “Best Practice – New Ideas. Argentina is the guest of honour of the Fair’s 2010 edition.
Successful Romanian authors such as Gabriel Chifu, Dan Lungu and Varujan Vosganian are the special guests of the Culture and National Heritage Ministry, this year, and they are to give public readings of their latest books, both in Romanian and German. The Romanian stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2010 also stages book launches and readings by Romanian authors like Nora Iuga, Horia Garbea, Karin Gundisch, Joachim Gremm, Adriana Carcu.
